About

The Hiroshima Chapter of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (Hiroshima JALT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement of language teaching and learning within Hiroshima, Japan and internationally with over 100 members and many more friends. Our chapter (formerly called the Chugoku chapter) was formed in 1978 by Marie Tsuruda and is one of the oldest, largest, and most active chapters of JALT.

If you are considering membership in Hiroshima JALT, click on the Membership link in the menu above to find out about the benefits of becoming a member.

The Chapter Governance link describes the management of our local chapter. Browse our constitution, get to know the committee responsible for putting together this year’s events, and consider whether you’d like to get more deeply involved in supporting our activities.
